I was going to take a break from all the learning about how to design and develop websites for a couple of days. But, I got bored and decided I would share with everyone some of the experiences I have. I’m now at the point where it’s time for me to start writing more blog post and creating tutorials to share my knowledge. But, What is a Blog and How Does it Work? How does blogging relate to HTML or website design?
What is a Blog Post?
According to Wikipedia, a blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal daily-style text entries (“post”).
Thank you, Wikipedia. I’m sure most of us now have a much clearer understanding what’s a blog post. If I understand this right, by providing enough quality information on your website for your visitors, and making it worth having an intellectual discussion about, you’ll be writing a blog post.
In other words, a blog post is a tool that teaches. It’s great for communicating your ideas, opinions and telling your story. Many bloggers are using it daily; Blogging to get their information out on the Internet and found by people like you and I. I read a lot of different writer’s blogs, some of them are worth the time when the topic is hot or related to the reader’s interest. You can learn a lot by reading someone’s post, for an example;
Blog Post Structure Helps Your SEO Ranking!
You bet your sweet sugar cookies that a well-structured blog post plays a good part in search engine optimization (SEO) and page rankings. Just by using HTML H1 through H6 heading tags correctly, you can help improve your page position search engine results.
When you write a post, you give it a title. The title is usually the largest heading on your post. You can have subtitles in your post that uses a smaller heading, hitting on several topics. This will make sections of your post stand out; help your followers and visitors get a quick idea of what each area is about.

How to Structure Your Blog Post
The way you construct your websites and blog posts can have a negative or positive impact on your SEO ranking? Yelp! It sure can. Read on because I’m going to give you a couple of more HTML related SEO tip. It’ll make it easier for your visitors, and the major search engine to find your website.
Basic Blog Post Structure:
- Make a theme/post template
- Create a list of writing topics
- Group related topics
- Prioritize your topic
- Keep the post short
- Write small paragraphs
- Use the correct HTML heading tags (h1-h6)

How to Gain Leverage With Your Blog Post
A blogger can create opportunities to earn an income from their blog posts for years. Simply by gaining leverage from already created and new blog posts, for example, What is a Blog Post could have been titled Introduction to HTML Heading Tag, or something like How to write a blog post. I plan to write at least one or two dedicated blog post about the proper use of HTML heading tags in my HTML tutorials, and that’s just the beginning of how I can leverage off this article.

What Can You Write About?
Which topic would you be more comfortable writing about; an idea you have a great deal of knowledge and expertises or one where you’re totally clueless and have to learn?
If you write an article about doing what you love, you’ll stay with it longer. Knowledge is power, I believe in sharing it. So, I write about what I learn.
